NJP is committed to ensuring that Alaskans have access to public benefits and healthcare. This has included engaging in statewide lawsuits to ensure that the government provides the services and benefits that Alaskans deserve.

For instance, in 2019, when thousands of Alaskans were left without healthcare because the state was failing to process Medicaid applications on time, NJP filed a class action lawsuit led to a favorable settlement that forced the state to eliminate the application backlog.
