NJP maintains an active consumer law practice, in order to ensure that Alaskans are treated fairly in debt collections, foreclosures, or other consumer transactions.

Debt collection cases flood Alaska’s court system. Evidently, large companies seem to assume that Alaskans will be too busy, poor, or scared to fight back. Many of these debt collection cases are meritless. NJP has repeatedly helped Alaskans fight back against predatory debt collectors. This has included helping to defend Alaskans in debt collection lawsuits, or even suing debt collectors for abusive or misrepresentative tactics.

Meanwhile, car dealers often try to rip-off hardworking Alaskans. NJP has helped people who were misled or deceived when making car purchases, and has sued car dealerships for unfair practices.
